Aarelest
Aarelest Angels are bird-like humanoids. They have beaks and wings that may either protrude from their back or attach to their forearm. Their legs and arms look similar to humans but their feet are typically that of a bird's, with four sharp talons. Some Aarelest have the hands of a bird claw as well but others have human-like hands. Their faces range from that of an eagle, falcon, owl and to most other large birds. Plumage color varies but males tend to be brighter than the average female, though exceptions do exist. For the most part it is safe to consider Aarelest a "beast race," though there's no telling how they might take hearing that. They are a rare species, even on Argenelle, experiencing close calls with extinction.

History
Once a high ranking, well established species on Argenelle, the aarelest demand respect. They represent law, order and systematic dialogue. Aarlests are considered 'lawful good' which makes them very reactionary to change, especially judgmental and occasionally close-minded. They are the sole creators of Argenelle's governmental structure, which is based around a council of the most pure spirited individuals. On Argenelle they are known to be well spoken, professional and honorable. Unfortunately, there are always a few rotten eggs to be found. Though their numbers have fluctuated, decreasing heavily in times of war, many wiped out in their fight against the demons of Demiticus, or in periods where sacrifice was demanded. They are known to be especially brave in relation to almost all other species found on Askeron, a true testament to their beliefs in justice and their burning will to do what is necessary. A common phrase heard among aarelests is something to the fact of "death is barely worth fearing."
Culture
Eggs
Once an aarelest lays an egg it requires only safe monitoring for the following 3 to 4 months. Aarelests do not need to warm the eggs but they cannot be kept in freezing temperatures either. Most mothers can be seen wrapping a blanket around their egg(s) and strapping them to their back or stomach in a sling that crosses the mother's shoulder. Aarelests will also build large, life-sized nests rather than having cribs. Eggs are normally white, brown or speckled.

Griesinger Syndrome
Aarelests have literal photographic memories, though it doesn't necessarily mean they remember everything. The things they do remember can be played back, projected like a holograph for all to see/experience. There are obvious benefits to being able to show actual footage of events, sharing moments from the perspective of the aarelests, but there's also some harm.
Griesinger Syndrome is an illness that effects aarelests. It is brought on by an addiction to a memory moment. Aarelests who constantly playback a memory in holographic form, becoming obsessed with that moment to the point where they never want to leave it. It's often seen in aarelests who refuse to move forward and away from past events, be that a memory of a loved one or a memory of a moment where they made the wrong decision that continues to haunt them, Griesinger Syndrome can develop into something much, much more harmful. The illness can cause many sleepless nights, delusion, nausea, loss of appetite and lack of motivation or energy. In worse cases the individual's organs may involuntarily begin to shut down, what is described as "no will to live" or "forgetting that life beyond the memory exists."
