Askeron is a world made up of 32 kingdoms/countries, each with its own unique story.
Each of these kingdoms has about 3-7 major regions. An average city in any given country will house a population between 8,000 and 15,000, but there's maybe one in every country that has a city with 20,000 to 100,000 people.
A kingdom may have a couple towns that house a population between 1,000 and 8,000 souls.
Not indicated on any map are the villages in each country that house 50 to 1,000 people. These villages are everywhere and there are about 10 to 100 of them in every kingdom known.

Askeron is a world dominated by 15 kingdoms, all of which have several "regions" which are more or less a city or town. Most places in Askeron are considered wild, which means while land outside of cities and towns are technically still under ownership of the kingdom it is typically very difficult for them to enforce laws and regulations in areas that have not been fully established and are uninhabited or unsafe. Still, patrols are generally sent out to maintain order as much as they are possible. There are some communities, such as centaur herds and schools of mermaids, who act in unestablished land and are acknowledged by the kingdom as their own governing force, usually with agreements signed and well followed. Most of these free-functioning communities are peaceful. These communities typically travel often and great distances, which helps to keep them separate from the kingdom's order.
Within the 15 kingdoms there are 72 towns/cities in total. Add that with the free-functioning communities, there are nearly 100 locations and societies with which one can reside.
